Über mich:
This is too hard for me to write "auf Deutsch" so I will write it in English. I love my country.... HOWEVER... I HATE what Bush has done to America. I saddens my heart to know that so many people around the world hate the United States because of the actions of the Bush administration. Sadly, too many Americans are too wrapped up in their everyday lives, dealing with their children, going shopping, watching television... to even care or notice what is going on. It is, in a way, a disadvantage, that the United States is so isolated from the rest of the world. People here are forgetting where it is that their grandparents came from. Many are compltely out of touch with what life is like in other nations. They don't know, and don't care to find out. They just take advantage of what this country offers... and don't give back. They don't give back to this country... and don't give back to the world. This is not ALL americans... not Americans from big cities like new york or Los Angeles. They live in diverse areas, with people from many cultures. They are involved in their communities, and they tend to be the people that travel and explore (go to school in Europe for a year, or go climb a mountain in Chile). People "in the middle" are the problem. I think many Europeans don't really understand how LARGE (gross) this country really is. I know that they see it on a map... but it's much more than the Kilometers... it's the isolation that happens with the people in the middle. They are not exposed to diversity of religion, ethnicity, culture. They are not (many times) exposed to new technology or fashion. They pretty much just go to work and come home... They only care about what is important in their own little town (dorf). This is reflected in the way they VOTE for president.... and they are the REASON THAT THIS MORON BUSH IS CURRENLY OUR PRESIDENT. Morons elect MORONS! (Google moron to see what that means...) What has happened now, right now... could actually be good for America. Bush has GONE so far... that people are willing to take a closer look at what is happening, and make changes. Obama has inspired young people to look at politics, to pay attention to what is going on... and to step forward to make a difference. He may not be able to change the minds of the elderly, older generation... but youth is the future of this country... and our world. It is also good for our youth to grow up with Obama as our President. Obama is a good man, a good role model, a good citizen of our country. He understands what it means to NOT be an American.. and thereby appreciates being an American all the more. Obama believes that it is a person's responsibility to get involved, to take control of their surroundings... and to give back to the community. If our government will help you pay for college, then it is your responsibility as an American, to pay your country back. YOu can pay your country back in many ways... but so many AMericans just go ahead an get their good job, make their money, and by lots of things (cars, television sets) they don't put anything back into their community. They could share what they know, and share their money... with people who need it, and could benefit from the help. THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRATS, AS A WHOLE, BELIEVE...and what Obama represents the best The fact that he is black (or half black) is meaningless to me (I am white)... however it does have some meaning on a wider scale. If you look at the "big picture", him being a black man is good. It should help to mend racial tension in this country. It will serve as a positive influence for underpriveliged black youth in this country, to see a black main attain such a high position. Many black youths do not have positive male influences in their own lives. For these reasons, and for a few others... I think him being black is actually GOOD.... but it is NOT the reason he is so successful, and NOT the reason I love him so much. I love him because I believe (I know) that he is truthful. I know he is intelligent... and I know that he FULLY WANTS TO DO HIS BEST TO CREATE A BETTER AMERICA. An America more like the one we had years ago. The place where everybody wanted to come and live their dream. I want that America back ! ! ! And Obama wants it back too. He doesn't want to be president to prove that he can be... or to attain power (like Bush, or Hillary) He wants to do this, because he KNOWS he can make a difference... and it is his RESPONSIBILITY as a citizen to to what he can for his country... the country that has given him so much... the country that, recently, has strayed off of it's path. I have created t-shirts and other items to support Obama, I will be posting some of them here. I hope Germans, and other Europeans join me in my personal quest to get this "GREAT GUY" in the WhiteHouse. Thanks for reading, STephanie
