"Josephine" Stole Garland
angelegt von Joerk am 30.06.2009 unter klamotten : SCHALS & HAND…
This stole is inspired by a portrait of the Empress Josephine.
Represented full length, Empress Josephine here wears a long white-trimmed cashmere robe adorned with a motif of palm leaves at the bottom. Although very costly since they came from India, cashmere shawls experienced true popularity among the society of the First Empire; the Empress had at least some sixty.
The robe or “shawl robe” that inspired this stole does not seem luxurious but the cost is so high that wearing a slip underneath was necessary in order not to damage the hem.
